cold weather make us easy to feel hungry. saw this cute little stuff yesterday when go to the nearby food market to buy bread, which look like is related to new year wishes. today google about it and confirmed that it is special "cake" for new year, which believe can bring good luck.
normally, the top part is mandarin orange, but since coming year is the year of goat, they replace the mandarin orange with cute little goat to match the theme.

initially was confused by japan new year vs chinese new year.
research more then only find out japan new year used to be the same days with chinese new year until they changed to follow the gregorian calendar.
so, now in Japan, Japan new year is always fall on 1st January, and the celebration start on december.
so glad that without plan, we are lucky enough to be able to celebrate xmas as well as japan new year during our this round stay in japan. :-)
